On Tuesday evening, 940’s Kitchen and Cocktails is the place to be. In collaboration with local tattoo shop Dark Age Tattoo, they’re putting on a Pop Up Show featuring local art and great cocktails. Dark Age manager Kelly Graff is very supportive of the artists who will be featured Tuesday night. “We have thirteen artists here, some of the artists are putting in one piece of work while others are putting in four or five,” Graff says, “We have four apprentices as well who will be putting in different pieces.” The work spans from oil to sketch, and art will be available for purchase. 940’s sleek and downplayed décor is the perfect venue for an event of this nature.

Matt Mullins, General Manager of 940’s is particularly excited about this event. “They have really talented people, really good artists, “Mullins says, “We’re all local people, we’re just trying to keep this Denton spirit alive and collaborate with other businesses.” That’s the idea behind the Pop Up - showcasing the talent here in Denton and inviting people to come in and appreciate what we’re doing around town from an artistic standpoint. “What we hope is for people to come and see these local artists from this really awesome tattoo place and see their artistry,” Mullins says, “These sketches and all the things they’re doing outside of what they do daily at the shop.” It’s important for local businesses to encourage partnerships within the community. This is a belief that is instilled in the 940’s management. “The more we work together,” Mullins points out, “the more we all thrive." 

 The event is being presented at 940’s Kitchen and Cocktails located at 219 West Oak Street from 6pm-9pm. If you’re interested in viewing some incredible never before seen artistic pieces and sipping some great cocktails then stop in and show your support. “We will be having a raffle,” Graff says, “And we’ll be giving away gift certificates for Dark Age Tattoo and other places around the Square.” The bar will be releasing a new cocktail on tap in honor of this evening’s event that will be unveiled Tuesday.
