FAB Friday Event Gives Back to Our Daily Bread
“From the Community, For the Community”
Today is the First Friday of August, and what better way to celebrate than to give back. 7Feathers Denton, The Bearded Monk, The Artists Enclave of Denton County, and Texas Musicians Against Gun Violence are teaming up to bring you a FAB Friday evening of music and community so you can end the week on a high note, or a folky one in this case.
While you are listening to the sweet sounds of Too Soft & The Smooth Smells, Matt Grigsby, or headliner Tallgrass you can sip on a tasty craft beer from the wide selection available at the Monk, fill up on delicious wood fire brick oven pizza from TX Fire Pies, or get your sweet fix from Cakes with Alt with a portion of all food sales being donated to Our Daily Bread.
Volunteers will also be accepting donations for Our Daily Bread, one of the longest standing community soup kitchens in Denton. In addition to serving almost 600,000 meals, Our Daily Bread offer many need-based services that range from free bus passes, access to the Denton Community Health Clinic, to financial assistance.
Our Daily Bread is currently in need of hygiene items, sunscreen, insect repellent, bottled water and to show their thanks the Artist Enclave will be giving out raffle tickets for some great prizes created by local artist given away throughout the evening.
The collaborative efforts and generosity of these organizations in addition to your kindly donated items will help support Our Daily Bread in feeding the hungry and homeless in Denton County. Come hungry, come thirsty, and ready to wind down from another hot August week with smooth sounds and a good time all while supporting a great local cause.
