A Creative Art Studio

Wednesday Morning Drawing Class
10 - 11:30 am
$20 per lesson
Bring your own sketchbook (12x14 or 16x20), drawing pencils, white eraser, and kneaded eraser. Students can join at any time to learn the fundamentals of drawing.
Beginning Watercolor Class
October 13, 20, and 27
7pm - 9pm
$90 for all 3 sessions
This class welcomes beginners to learn how to paint with watercolor. It doesn't matter how green you are. Each week there will be a new technique for students to learn. Supplies and paper must be purchased separately, and such items are available at the studio.
Watercolor Batik Workshop:
Sunday, October 16
2:30pm - 5pm
$35
This Sunday afternoon workshop teaches an old technique of watercolor painting that uses a melted wax that work as a resist. Work with rice paper and paints to paint in a style that's comparable to what HDR does for photography. All supplies and tools are included with admission.

Beginning Brush Lettering with Wildflower Art Shop

$55 ($85 with Brush Lettering Kit)
Brush lettering is a practice similar to calligraphy. Students will gain skills in using a single brush pen to make beautiful letters, and take home something they'll be proud to hang on their walls. All supplies used during class are provided. Students will take home an inspiring work of art.

If you've ever wanted to design a rad poster with artsy lettering, this is your chance to develop those skills. Participants will learn a range of styles, and are encouraged to bring their own favorite quotes. Words are art too!

Intro to Hand Embroidery with Allie Biddle

Hand-stitching is a meditative skill that can lead making fantastic gifts for loved one. Allie Biddle will teach you about hand embroidery and hoop art as well as send you off with a kit to make hoop art at home. All supplies are provided.

Creative Space Workshop Series: Body Factory Puppet Workshop
Friday, October 28
$50 ($45 for GDAC members)
Melanie Little Gomez Smith and Des Smith of ARTLAB 3000 have wowed the town with their dioramas for 35 Denton and Arts All Night. Now you can learn how to make puppets from the masters themselves. All supplies are provided for participants to assemble puppets to their own style. Register by October 21st to get into the class.

Creative Space Workshop Series: Comic Strip Creation Workshop

Comic aficionado? Why not make one yourself? Curator and artist Josh Rose will explain his process before participants design their own 3-4 panel comic strip. This event is for adults over 21 and BYOB. All supplies are provided.

Sunday's: Denton Celtic Dancers Community Dance Class: 5 - 7pm

Not only does this class welcome newcomers, it provides the chance to observe more experienced Celtic dancers if you show up at 5pm. Free Salsa and Bachata Workshop + Social Dancing

8:30pm -11:30pm (Social Dancing with $5 cover, 21+ only and BYOB)
Learn to unlock those hips with these free dancing lesson provided by Salsa with Jo. One hour is devoted to salsa and the 2nd hour will have bachata lessons. If you can't make the workshop, guests are welcome to attend the social dancing period.

Eco-dying Workshop

Shabby Chic Painting Workshops
Evening Sessions: Tuesdays through Saturdays 6pm-8pm

Pick up some shabby chic skills in this class. Participants are provided paint, supplies, and a free furniture item to keep. This can be solo experience, or you can bring along a group for a fun night of learning with friends and family.
