Will Bell Street Closing Affect You?

Part of Bell Avenue will be shut down for a sewer line replacement from April 24 to May 19. Any lines running from the main line to TWU’s buildings will also need to be replaced.

Robbin Webber with the City of Denton said the road will be closed from Texas Street to College Street, but will reopen on May 12 and 13 for TWU’s commencement ceremony.

“It’s a two-phase closure,” Webber said. “We’ll be fixing the curb and gutters, then re-servicing the street on June 1. The only thing that will probably be open will be Administration Drive.”

Webber said the city will be replacing Bell’s asphalt surface during the second round of construction, and both of the road’s narrow lanes will have to be closed at the same time.
