Artists Enclave presents EGGS-ibition 2
Agua Dulce, 6 PM
Join the Artists Enclave of Denton County for their silent auction EGGS-ibition 2. Local artists, businesses, and community leaders have handcrafted over 35 one-of-a-kind eggs to auction off in an effort to raise funds for the Denton High School Family Assistance Foundation—whose mission is to provide financial help to Denton High School alumni, faculty, and staff in times of medical or other crises. The Return of Richard Haskins
Killer’s Tacos, 7 PM
Celebrate the return of one of Denton’s most notorious—you know, The Dentonite’s new head honcho—Richard Haskins. Promising to be a spectacle, this exclusive showcase will be headlined by none other than the Richard Haskins Band. This will be Haskins’ first live performance since his arrest at the 2016 35 Denton festival. Joining the bill is Fort Worth’s indie/surf-rock band Animal Spirit and East Dallas’ acoustic sweetheart Cortlynn Blakenbaker. Wren, Glaze, Walking Misery
Gatsby’s Mansion, 9 PM

Featuring performances by Wren, Glaze, and Walking Misery, this stellar lineup will showcase the purity of this sub-genre’s sound. Free, but donations for the bands are appreciated. Music starts at 9 PM.
Leoncarlo, Whetherman
Taps & Caps, 9 PM

Hailing from Jacksonville, Florida, Whetherman—who has been referred to as a traveling troubadour—will serenade us with his folky Americana melodies. His singer-songwriter skills will be accompanied by Denton’s own experimental violinist Leoncarlo. There is a $3 cover charge for those 18–20 and $1 for those 21+. Come enjoy a few craft brews and live tunes. 9 PM.
Sunday, April 9
East Side Crawfish Boil
East Side, 1 PM
Join East Side for their second annual Crawfish Boil. This year, they’ll be selling crawfish by the pound—$8 per pound or $5 per pound + fixins—with all (crawfish) proceeds benefiting the Denton Kiwanis Club Children’s Clinic. This year, they hope to raise $10k, six thousand over last year’s $4k. Rahr and Sons, Western Son Vodka, and Lone Star are sponsoring the event, so you’ll have plenty of tasty alcoholic beverages to help wash down your meal(s). Don’t forget to slip on your boots, so you can kick up some dirt while dancing to the twangy sounds of Denton honky tonkers, Raised Right Men. Crawfish and cocktails in the name of the community? You can count us in!
Denton City Council Candidates Forum
Dan’s Silverleaf, 5:30 PM
Join the Denton Drilling Awareness Group aka Frack Free Denton, a nonprofit organization dedicated to banning hydraulic fracturing in Denton, at Dan’s Silverleaf for a City Council candidate forum.
