West Oak Coffee Roaster’s Release Party
West Oak Coffee Bar, 7 pm
When West Oak Coffee Bar opened their doors a little over a year ago, their goal was to roast and sell their own coffee. Their dreams have finally come true and they’ll be showcasing their coffee tonight, with special prices and few prizes you could win. Not a coffee drinker? Then stop by and grab a brew by Revolver. Jude & Alex: An Exhibition
UNT on the Square, 5:30 pm
We’re sure you’re familiar with Jude Landry, the artist behind so much of the 35 Denton artwork. You may even have a shirt or two of his. He and fellow artist Alex Egner will have an open gallery exhibit on the Square, showcasing some awesome new works of design, typography, and illustration.
Paranoid Anxieties 3 Release Show and Viewing Party
J&J’s Pizza, 8 pm
The basement will be packed with bands from all over Texas, with a range of sounds, this Friday night. Houston, Austin, and Fort Worth join local bands for this tape release. Be sure to bring five bucks for the cover and some dollars for a Schlitz or 12. It doesn’t just stop there either. They’ll be announcing a showing of the tape taking place after the set, so make sure you get there when they release the address.
RTB2, Cory Patrick Coleman, Cozy Hawks
Dan’s Silverleaf, 9 pm
DFW’s beloved RTB2 headlines this show at Dan’s, one you’ll probably find a ton of your friends at. Especially with their follow-up acts, Cory Patrick Coleman and Cozy Hawks, it’s definitely going to be a high-energy show with a lot of the audience singing along—all three bands have quite a following. $7 cover.

Saint Arnold Pub Crawl
Denton Downtown Square, 2 pm
Meet at Lone Star Taps & Caps with your fellow boozehounds and start the pub crawlin’. Saint Arnold’s is hosting this afternoon of day drinking; as long as you hit all five bars, finish at Harvest House and you’ll get a free specialized pint glass.
Gay Cat Hell Presents: Texas Instruments
House on 420 Frog St., 9:30 pm
One part math, two parts musical experimentation, and a dash of visual beauty, this unique event features a full line-up of bands with a backdrop of multimedia visuals. This isn’t your typical Denton house party—be prepared to rock out hard.
Life Looked Over: A Picture of West Texas History
Dan’s Silverleaf, 12 pm
Hosted by Goliad Media, tonight’s event is the opening of a photography series by resident artist Christi La Violette. The exhibit focuses on the structures and landscape of West Texas, a portrayal of its overlooked, yet rich, history. Guest artists Camille Green, Leslie Hartman, Clay Stinnett, and Ashley Young will also be on display. Free admission.
The Dimaggios, Roar Shack, Sons of Sol, The Monkberries
Purple Palace, 8 pm
A motley crew of bands will take the “stage” at Purple Palace (521 Malone St.), representing Austin (Roar Shack), Waco (The Dimaggios, headlining), and local acts. The Monkberries are gonna open, and you REALLY don’t want to miss them. It’s a BYOB event, which is great for those on-the-cheap, and they’ll be taking a $3 donation if ya’ got it. Support your musicians, y’all.
Pageantry Album Release, with Good Field and Claire Morales

Come and pick up one of your very own albums during the release of the Denton band’s first album, “Influence”. Choose your pick of CDs, records, and/or cassettes—they’ll also have a free download on their bandcamp. Celebrating with them are Denton friends Good Field and Claire Morales. Bring $10 and some cash to pick up some music.

Gotta love those old country covers from the 60s all the way to the 90s. Get your two-step on with the patio crowd and close out your weekend with a bang. Raised Right Men shows are always high energy—trust us, it’ll be the highlight of your #SundayFunday.
