12 Beers of Christmas at The Bearded Monk

The perfect way to toast to the season is with a delicious craft beer from Denton’s own The Bearded Monk. For the second Holiday season in a row, the Bearded Monk will bring us the 12 Beers of Christmas beginning Wednesday, December 14th and ending on Christmas Eve with an extra special rare beer release double header. There are also some pretty rad events sprinkled in to add a little more festive fun to your holiday celebrations. You can check out the full list of events out on their Facebook, but here are a few dates you will want to make sure you don’t miss:

Friday, December 16th - 3rd Beer of Christmas - Armadillo Brunch Money
The Discover Denton Welcome center houses DentonRadio.com, and for #FreeBeerFriday the fellas behind Brunch Money will be on air. You can tune in or catch the interview live, and then make your way down to The Bearded Monk at 9pm to chat with Yianni Arestis and Bobby Mullins of Armadillo Ale Works in person, and probably even do a shotgun with them. I mean it is The Bearded Monk on a Friday y'all, that’s what #ShotgunFriday is all about.

Saturday, December 17th - 4th Beer of Christmas - 903 Brewers
903 Brewers out of Sherman, makers of Milk & Honey and The Chosen One, will be out at The Monk handing out tour passes to those that donate jackets, coats, socks, hats, and scarves for the Keep Denton Warm Clothing Drive. The perfect opportunity to drink delicious Texas crafted beer and give back to the community all at the same time!

Monday, December 19th - Rabbit Hole Brewing Rapture Fusion Coffee Brown - Ugly Christmas Sweater Party
Make your way down the rabbit hole into a world where your tackiest sweater is celebrated! Pose with friends and family for the most awkward family photos with a slew of props you won’t find in your everyday photo booth.

Tuesday, December 20th - Audacity & Bearded Monk Beer Release - New 12.5% Belgian Quad
In addition to the tapping of the Firestone's Velvet Merkin', two brilliant brewers in Denton have joined forces and created the latest addition in the Abbey Series from Audacity Brew House. Ben Webster of The Bearded Monk and Doug Smith of Audacity put their hop heads together to bring us a Belgian Quad that comes in at 12.5%. This beer is available on draft only, and there's is a limited supply. Get it while you can!

Wednesday, December 21st - 8th Beer of Christmas - Collective Brewing Project 5 Course Tasting
Mike Goldfuss, co-founder of The Collective Brewing Project, is sneaking Bud Light into the building and will be infusing the beer with the odd and unusual flavors of green apples, skunks, sweat, and cardboard. This will probably be the one and only time Bud will be served on the monk premises, and the tasting menu will be done in the same style that beer judges, Cicerone, and brewers are accustomed to. Tickets are available for $16, so scoop yours up now because this event will sell out!

Thursday, Dec 22nd - Noble Rey Barampus - BA Baracus and Krampus Gathering
Holiday stress have you scared? Nothing like hanging out with a bunch of Krampus to bring some spooky spirit to the holidays. Noble Rey will be at The Monk for a taping of the BA Baracus, and what better company than a bunch of Krampus who will make sure to bestow upon you the gift of nightmares.

This second installation of the 12 Beers of Christmas will definitely provide some unique opportunities to get into the holiday spirit. “I’m excited about so many of them! All those rare beers, changes to hang with brewery owners, all the good we can do with donations collected, our awkward family photo night with Rabbit Hole, the load of Krampuses that are swarming on the 22nd, how can I choose just one?” says Ben Easley, owner of The Bearded Monk, when asked about which night he is most looking forward to. Don’t forget to grab those last minute gifts while you are stopping into the growler shop, they have shelves full of shirts, growlers, and hand made goods and art from local creatives.

The Bearded Monk is located at 122 E McKinney St.
