The temperature is dropping, the heaters are getting fired up, and our favorite watering holes are rolling out some cold weather cocktails to keep us nice and toasty on these almost-frosty nights. Whether you want to warm up with a spiked hot chocolate or a classic hot toddy, the talented bar staff around town has you covered.

Mexican Hot Chocolate - want to add a little spice to your hot chocolate? This cold weather concoction mixes Kahlua, Tequila, cinnamon, chile powder, Aztec chocolate bitters, vanilla extract, and is garnished with a cinnamon stick and whip cream

Spiked Hot Chocolate - Oak St. pulls out all the stops for their spiked hot chocolate combining cocoa, Rumplemintz, half and half, whipped cream, and crushed peppermint on top. We'll take two, thanks.

Backyard on Bell

Ginger Chai Hot Toddy - The mad scientists at Backyard are bringing infusions into the mix. This take on the classic combines an Infused Titos vodka with fresh ginger, loose leaf chai tea, lemon juice, honey, and is garnished with a lemon and cinnamon stick

Cider Alexandria - This one is sneaky & so delicious, proceed with caution y'all! The base is a made in-house and is a three generation cider recipe. Spiked with Fireball and vanilla vodka, this baby angel of a drink is served with a brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg rim.

Harvest House

The Ginny Appleseed - This drink is sure to warm you up and combines some top-shelf ingredients. The only place to get this special batch of Austin Gin in Denton is at Harvest House. The Ginny Appleseed mixes Austin Select Reserve Gin that has been aged in Jester King Brewery barrels, Arkansas Straight Apple Jack, apple cider, and is garnished with an apple slice.

Drunk Uncle - We all have one during the holidays, and this spin on the classic is sure to add some more cheer to family time this holiday season. A classic hot chocolate is spiked with Creme de Menthe and Creme de Cacao, topped with whip cream and an Andes mint.

East Side

Hot Toddy - There are no frills for this popular winter warmer. Pick your own whiskey and they bartender will add in the basics: honey, lemon, and a steeped teabag.

Pecan Cinnamon Old Fashioned - Not a hot drink, but one that will definitely warm you up. House made Cinnamon syrup is combined with a roasted pecan infused whiskey, and cherry bitters.

This is only a few of many, Denton is home to many drinking establishments that serve up delicious cold weather cocktails, lucky us! We hope your holidays are merry and your cups are full.
