NBC first reported that this Ft. Worth originated restaurant would be expanding to Denton last Friday. “I think the restaurant business is great right now,” Spiral Diner founder James Johnston told NBC.

Johnston and wife Amy McNutt opened Spiral Diner & Bakery, a 100% vegan and mostly organically sourced restaurant, some 14 years ago in Ft. Worth. Their businesses expanded to Oak Cliff in 2006 when one of their long-time employees opened the second Spiral location.

Oh, by the way, they do custom cakes. Custom vegan cakes, baked-to-order.

Their Denton location will be at The Railyard, located just right off of the square. According to The Railyard's Facebook page, the growing space is a nearly 28,000 square foot historic building that will "undergo extensive reconstruction featuring retail, restaurant and creative office spaces as well as 110 newly constructed loft/apartment units that will be readily available next summer."

"When we started location scouting for our new location we really fell head-over-heels in love with Denton," McNutt says. "Downtown has a clear vision of what it wants to be; a walkable, bike-able, area full of thriving small businesses. Our space at the Railyard is a total dream and we can’t wait to serve people on the patio."

We couldn't be more excited about this award winning diner & bakery finding a new home in Denton!
