Band Together Denton Fundraiser Shows

It’s finally 2017, which means a whole lot of things, but most importantly, it means Band Together Denton is only days away instead of months. Denton's inaugural house show festival, benefiting Mentor Denton, will take place at houses all over Denton on January 20th and 21st. Before that, though, Band Together Denton will be hosting a couple of shows this weekend to help raise funds to cover the operational costs (of which there are many) of putting on a festival. 

Friday, January 6th at BackYard on Bell

The first of these two shows takes place on Friday at BackYard on Bell. Music will start at 9 with Thrill Bill, THIN SKIN, and Jesus Chris + The Beetles. If that’s not awesome enough, there’s always pizza, food trucks, drinks, and did we mention pizza? 

Saturday, January 7th at Audacity Brew House

Fundraiser show #2 comes at you on Saturday at Audacity Brew House and will feature Daisy and Mother Tongues at 8 PM and 9 PM. That’s not all, though — Weird Destiny Productions will be on-hand with multiple interactive art exhibits.

The fundraiser part of these nights is easy — just show up and drink/eat. The bars will take care of the rest by donating 5% of proceeds from the night to Band Together Denton. As mentioned above, donations will go to help cover the operational costs of the festival. Most of the proceeds from ticket and merch sales won’t be received until after the festival, and even then, 90% is immediately set aside to be split between charity, the bands, and the venues. The costs of running a festival are not low - even things as cheap as a case of water add up when you count how many are needed just to make sure the bands have enough. 

So, come out Friday and/or Saturday, watch some awesome bands and make some art, eat and drink your heart out, and help the behind-the-scenes folks of Band Together Denton make sure this festival is all it can be and more. More info on the Facebook event.
