Norah Jones Returns to North Texas for Oaktopia

Oaktopia just announced their latest - and a SURPRISE - headliner to their already incredible 2016 festival lineup, Ms. Norah Jones! A University of North Texas alum, Jones will be performing in Denton for the first time since she attended college here.

Jones, born Geetali Norah Shankar, majored in jazz piano and sang with the UNT Jazz Singers. She is the daughter of the late and famous Indian musician, Ravi Shankar. Jones has performed on Saturday Night Live and the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She's played sold out arenas and been named best Female Vocalist numerous times, from many prestigious sources. 

Her last album, Little Broken Hearts , was released in 2012, and she announced via social media earlier this year in March that her sixth studio album is almost complete. Maybe we'll hear some of that at Oaktopia this year? One can dream, right?

While Oaktopia continues to WOW us all, they aren't done yet. They have yet to release their full experience offerings (stay tuned, it's exciting!!) and they will be announcing the Petty Fest lineup soon, too. Hands down the best festival lineup we've ever seen in North Texas. Please do try to debate that. We'll wait.
