Technology is cool. Without it there wouldn’t be things like Netflix or Pokemon, which sounds not so cool. Another result of technology is the ability for people to work remotely. Like anything in life, working remotely has its challenges, too. One said challenge is where to spend all of your work time, if not in a traditional office. Home offices or coffee shops have been the consistent choices so far, but starting today, August 1st, 2016, Denton has a third option: Stoke Denton.

Stoke Denton is a co-working space and entrepreneur center for innovators, startups, and dreamers, Stoke Denton is a product of Connected Denton and a result of a partnership between the City of Denton and the Dallas Entrepreneur Center. Initial funds as well an annual allocation are provided by the City as part of an economic development initiative aimed at turning Denton into a technology hub.

Co-working involves a shared working environment with independent work. Multiple people sharing a space but not necessarily working together or even for the same company. Stoke Denton isn’t the first one to bring this idea to Denton, but having a dedicated and consistent co-working space will be a welcomed change.

Memberships levels include virtual, co-working, and dedicated with each offering benefits that vary from access to events and conference room booking, to 24/7 non-dedicated or dedicated space. Prices start at $20/day for drop-in and go up to $550/month for a dedicated office.

Stoke Denton is located at 608 E. Hickory, Suite 128. Their location is within walking distance of downtown, and located right off the A-Train stop. For more information, check out their website.
