Ramen-Off
Hosted by Komodo Loco + Po-K Loco
Commentary by The Brave Boys’ Brad McKenzie and Robert Scheer
@ Komodo Loco
This Sunday, Komodo Loco - in cooperation with Po-K Loco - hosted a ramen eating competition, filled with representatives of local bars competing to take home the ramen Off 2019 trophy. Local comedic troupe The Brave Boys had their very own Brad McKenzie and Robert Scheer on-hand to provide color commentary on the action at hand, the proceeds of which went to benefiting the DISD School Lunch Program, making sure that every student is well-fed. Andy’s, Eastside, 940’s, Mulberry St. Cantina, Lucky Lou’s, Barley & Board, and Little Guys’ Movers all had representatives in attendance, to compete for glory, honor, and charity in a one hour marathon to see who could eat the most bowls of ramen - broth and all. The only rule beyond the complete consumption of both solid and liquid components of every bowl was to maintain the integrity of the contents of one’s stomach: any reversals-of-fortune - or “yakking”, as our commentators stated - would result in an immediate DQ. We promise no such upchucking was photographed - check out the competitors in all their consumptive glory, and give Shelby Hardy of Barley & Board a pat on the back for taking home the W and the trophy.
