Harvest House of Art Preview

Last Fall, Katie Burgess created the Harvest House of Art experience with an art display equally weighted alongside a stellar music lineup. It comes back this Saturday, May 27th with the addition of Denton Gallery curating the selection of artists.

Weird Destiny Productions will be stepping up their involvement with building projections and installations. All artists will be local, with a few doing live painting throughout the festivities. The art gallery opens up at 4pm in the patio area of Harvest.

In the evening, a psychadelic-influenced lineup will rock the sound waves betwixt the visuals to set up a dynamic art haven. The show is the EP release show for Mother Tongues, which was recently reviewed by The Dentonite. Included on the bill are psych-rock bands from LA and Austin. Our "can't-miss" designation goes to Palm Daze (ATX), but the whole lineup should be checked out for the full psychedelia experience.. Also playing are The Rotten Mangos (ATX), The Bristol Hills (LA), and Telemagasounds.

Curation is mostly done by Denton Gallery, a website that endeavors to promote local artists. They have spent the past year building up an online store, and they've been displaying selected artists on the walls of West Oak Coffee shop. This show is the expansion of their mission to bring eyes to the stellar art being made in little d.
