Register to Vote by October 11, 2016
Are you registered to vote? The 2016 election race is heating up, and Monday night brought the first of three Presidential debates. If you want to vote in the 2016 election you must be registered to vote by October 11. Don't stress - it's easy, and we are here to help.
Step One: Fact Check.
If you're unsure whether or not you are registered to vote, you can fill out some information here and find out. Already registered? Congrats! Tell all of your friends to register to vote.
Step Two: Register.
Not registered? You've got a couple of options:
Print out your voter registration and mail it out yourself.
Find a volunteer deputy registrar. They can help you get registered from start to finish.
Update you drivers license address & check the box saying you want to update your voter registration, too. Two birds, one stone.
You can request a postage pre-paid voter registration form (note, we have no idea how long this takes).

UNT Students can register to vote on campus Tuesday, September 26 during two separate times. Kerr Hall from 10am - 2pm and Rawlins Hall from 7pm - 9pm.
Step Three: Research.
Before you vote, do some research. Watch the Presidential debates. The last debate is Sunday, October 19, 2016. Follow the discussion on Twitter with #debates2016 and #debatenight.
Read articles from trusted sources, talk to friends who you admire about their ideas, research everything. Most importantly, and leading us to our fourth and final step, get out there and vote.
Step Four: Vote.
Election Day is November 8, and that will be here before we know it. You can check out votetexas.gov and votedenton.com for all of the immediate voter needs and questions. You must have one of the following items with you in the State of Texas to vote:
Texas driver license issued by the Department of Public Safety
Texas election ID certificate
Texas personal ID card
Texas license to carry a handgun
US military ID card with your photograph
US citizenship certificate containing your photograph (doesn’t need to be current)
US passport
If you don't have access to one of those documents, you can sign a sworn statement noting that there is a reason you don't have one of the above-mentioned documents. In addition to the statement, you'll need to provide one of these items:
Valid voter registration certificate
Certified birth certificate
Current utility bill
Government check
Paystub or bank statement that includes your name and address
Copy of or original government document with your name and an address (original required if it contains a photograph).
