Weekend Update 4/19-4/22

This weekend update is in addition to all the Thin Line Fest happenings around town, you can view the full schedule on the website and if you haven’t registered for your FREE ticket make sure to do so now! We also wrote a sweet guide for you here, so you can plan out your weekend of awesome in addition to the events on our weekend update!

We have beautiful weather and a stacked weekend of events, and as always, Denton has something for everyone.


Thursday, April 19

Twilight Tunes on the Downtown Denton Square

It’s back! Twilight Tunes kicks off with High School Ceasar on the downtown Denton courthouse lawn. Grab a cooler, some lawn chairs, and wind down with family and friends to some rockabilly tunes before taking on the rest of the evening. This week's event is sponsored by Agua Dulce and Chestnut Tree.

J. Allert / Megan Storie / Puddin Taine at Harvest House

Get your groove on to the debut sounds of J. Allert, a 6 piece band that will have you on your feet, just try not to spill your beer. Joined by the funky tunes of Puddin Taine and the always lovely Megan Storie! Plus it’s a free show, so you can roll into Friday with some pep in your step with some money still in your pockets for the rest of the weekends' festivities.

Mean Girls (ATX), Weedzer, Better Now, Robot Therapy at J&J’s

You can check out this lineup with a slice and schlitz in hand while rocking out in the beloved J&J’s basement, $5 goes to support the acts. Dinner and show? Sounds like a great way to spend a Thursday night.


Friday, April 20

UNT Townhall with Beto O'Rourke

Brought to you by the College Democrats of the University of North Texas, Beto O’Rourke is out on the campaign trail to become the next US Senator and he is stopping through Denton! You can purchase tickets through the event link for the Town Hall that will be held at the UNT Gateway Center.

View Column: Art Show Presented by The Where?House

The Where?House is hosting another art show featuring the art of local talent as well as performances by The Altitude, Crisman, Foxlove, Honest Answers, plus West Oxking and the One Night Crusade. Support your local artists by purchasing their creations or make a donation towards the performers to keep these amazing shows continuing in the community.

Ashes Smoke Shop 4/20 Fest

Ashes Smoke Shop has a stacked day full of music, art, comedy, and food to make sure your 4/20 is everything you want it to be. Taking over the parking lot of their location on Carroll, you can see glassblowers, pick up some free swag, and satisfy your munchies with some free food.


Saturday, April 21

Serve Denton Brunch

Andy’s has been opening their doors a little earlier on the weekends, and have been making huge efforts to support our community non-profits and charity organizations. This Saturday is no exception, doors open at 11am and you can treat yourself to a tasty brunch of waffles and mimosas while bopping along to the sounds of The April First Band. A suggested $10 cover goes towards Serve Denton and the inspiring work they continue to do in the community.

Goddess Workshop at The Rudra Center

Randall & Kristin Brooks are leading this workshop hosted by Shadow Mountain Yoga at The Rudra Center to deepen your knowledge of who and what is the Goddess. Downtown Denton Earth Day Clean Up w/ East Side

Beautify the downtown square with your East Side fam from 1- 2pm this Sunday, and then grab a brew (with a complimentary Earth day pint glass) while you sip and shop the wares of local vendors at the Backyard Market!

Celebrating Armadillo Ale Works

It’s a party y’all! Cheers to the team of Armadillo Ale Works at Andy's Bar on what is the last stretch of the marathon to opening up their brewery and taproom in the lil’ d. Shake it to the tunes of Ella Minnow, Skagg Phillips, voltREvolt, and the MC talents of Walker Smart. BONUS, this is a free event to end the weekend on a high note.
