Waking up is not always easy, but Mellow Mushroom may have just made it a little easier to get out of bed. Mellow Mushroom at 217 E. Hickory St. in Denton is introducing a new breakfast menu worth getting excited about.  

Mellow Mushroom kicks off breakfast with a Mellow Mornings menu full of extreme tastes, delicious cheeses, and beautiful creations.

Starting with their Florentine Pie, you get a nice olive oil-and-garlic base topped with shredded mozzarella, fresh sunny-side-up eggs, warm spinach, caramelized onions, delicious mushrooms, and fresh chives. The tastes are incredible, with streaming cheese, comforting warm eggs, and the popping flavor of a parmesan-dusted crust.

They also have new coffee available, such as locally roasted Cultivar Coffee. “I love our new breakfast menu,” Taylor Potter, a manager at Mellow Mushroom said. “I am excited for the coffee.”

Potter said the Florentine Pie is her new favorite thing on the menu.

“I love the fresh chives,” Potter said. “I love the crust, complementing the chives and mushrooms. It is a good blend of ingredients.”

Service at the Mellow Mushroom is very prompt and friendly, with Bria Mick checking in often to take care of you. Mick offers good suggestions too, such as trying some sriracha with your breakfast-menu pie.  

Mellow Mushroom has other morning options on the menu, including Hbic Pie, Wake 'n' Bacon, and the breakfast wrap. They also included the Ritz Burger from the old menu on the new breakfast menu.

The Hbic pie has an olive oil-and-garlic base, Italian sausage, shredded mozzarella, whole fresh eggs, chives, cheddar cheese, and bacon.

The Wake 'n' Bacon is unique, offering the delight of morning bacon, a roasted mushroom trio, roasted asparagus, MontAmoré®, and whole fresh eggs sprinkled with chives, salt, and pepper.

Mellow Mushroom also has a breakfast wrap containing scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, garlic aioli, roasted red potatoes, and your choice of bacon, ham, or sausage in a whole wheat tortilla.

$3 brunch booze is available for purchase Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as well as all day Sunday, with blood and honey beermosas, mimosas, and Bloody Marys. The mimosa is smooth and gives you that orange juice flavor you crave with a little Brut champagne.

Potter said that when Bret took over as the new general manager for Mellow Mushroom, he had several really cool ideas and good ideas for things that Denton likes to do. “We are currently working on some vegan options,” Potter said

Potter said they are working to see if they can get the back patio open to dogs, and they are seeing about doing a pet calendar with employees, regulars, and their pets.
