On Tap: Audacity Unveils The Boom Bock
Audacity Brew House has been collaborating all over town with their Denton brews. The most recent addition to the Abbey Series is a Belgian Quad featuring the recipe of one of our favorite Ben’s—the shorter one. I think his last name is Webster.
The Lil’ d Series is getting ready to hit its two year mark, and each release has been in collaboration with a local restaurant, festival, or non-profit. The latest in the series featured a collaboration with local musical favorites, The Boombachs.
This beer is a crowd pleaser for sure, and the smoothness in texture and flavor does not go unnoticed. Light in body and a deep golden color, the flavor is well-balanced while still vibrant. Bright notes of honey, caramel, and the bready qualities of your traditional Bock, each shining through like the uniqueness of The Boombachs' sound. With so many minds coming together to create the recipe, you would expect a clutter of flavors on the palate, but the beer is delightfully simple and not at all overpowering. It's a great light sipper to take in a live show, coming in at only 5.2% ABV.
Looking back at the rest of the series:
Lil’ d Series #1 - A Mesquite Smoked Chili Ale in collaboration with Bet the House, whose release was presented by way of a beer and food tasting featuring Bet the House's tasty BBQ. This beer also paired perfectly with contestants' creations at the Audacity Chili Cook-Off benefiting Monsignor Kings Homeless Shelter in January of earlier this year. (Hint: you can expect this Chili Cook-Off to be a yearly occasion, and be sure to save the date for the last weekend in January!)
Lil’ d Series #2 - The Pecan Porter in collaboration with Oaktopia that was released during the sold-out Pretopia featuring Astronautilus at Harvest House in 2015. Audacity was a sponsor of the 2015 fest, and beer options featured some tap room favorites in addition to the Evil Cream Soda.
Lil’ d Series #3 - A winter warmer dubbed the Chocolate Wheat was released in December of last year, with a portion of proceeds supporting Denton County Friends of the Family. The beer was spiced with hibiscus, holy basil, chamomile, lavender, and peppermint.
Coming Soon! Lil’ d Series #5 will be in collaboration with Thin Line Film Fest, which is celebrating their 10 year anniversary with a FREE FEST this April!
