A Night of Fashion at the Denton Animal Shelter
The Denton Animal Shelter is hosting a one-of-a-kind fashion event this Saturday evening that dog lovers don’t want to miss. In collaboration with the UNT Fashion Design program, students will be showing looks they have been working on this past year, and the starring models for the evening? Puppers that are up for adoption at the shelter. Not only will models be strutting their stuff down the catwalk, but fur babies will be working the runway as well.
The event will be held at the shelter and kicks off at 6 p.m. with an open house, some catered goodies, and the opportunity to learn more about the sponsors. Twisted Bodies is a local pilates and yoga studio, Suzie’s Snack is a local gourmet dog treat vendor, and triphound.com, an online travel site that helps people with adventuring with animals find travel deals.
Event organizer Nicole Lopez wanted to “make an event where we could combine the community all together, and this is a great way to get the students involved.”
All proceeds will be designated to the emergency medical fund, which allow the shelter to treat and take care of any sick or injured animals they intake. “[It will] give them a better chance at life, setting them up for success before they get adopted,” said Lopez. “Were looking forward to seeing the community come out, we welcome kids, we will be playing music during the show, and between 6 and 7:30 we will be serving food and have an open house for the shelter.”
Admission is $8, and the event starts at 6 p.m. You can secure your ticket or make a donation at this ticket link. The shelter is located at 3717 N. Elm St.
